Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of Laraib comprises seven directors all seasoned and experienced professional in their respective fields.

Zafar Iqbal Sobani, Chairman

Mr. Sobani is a senior Chartered Accountant and currently the CEO of Hubco. He has previously held the positions as CEO of Liberty Power Tech Ltd (August 2008 to June 2011), Chief Financial Officer of Century Paper & Board Mills (February 1990 to August 2008) and President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (2004-05). Currently he is also the Chairman of the Quality Control Board of the ICAP with the responsibility to regulate the quality of the assurance work carried by audit firms in Pakistan.

Mohammad Ashraf Tumbi

Currently the Chief Financial Officer at Xenel Industries Ltd, Mr. Tumbi has done his CA from The Institute of Chartered Accountants (Pakistan) and a Stanford Executive Program from Stanford University, USA. While serving Xenel in the key the position of CFO, he also managed Hubco as its Chief Executive from January 2005 to February 2006.

S. Nizam Ahmed Shah

Mr. Nizam Shah is a founding Director and Executive Vice Chairman of Hubco. He has previously held positions as Chairman and CEO of Pakistan Tobacco Co., Chairman and CEO of National Development Finance Corporation. He has served on the Board of Civil Aviation Authority and Philips Electrical Industries and on the Advisory Councils of Ministries of Commerce and Finance and the Privatization Commission. Mr. Nizam Shah has also served as the President of Overseas Chamber of Commerce and Industry (1985-88).

Malcolm Peter Clampin

Mr. Clampin is currently the Executive Managing Director of the Arabian Power Company in Abu Dhabi. He was previously the CEO of Kot Addu Power Company (KAPCO) in Pakistan from 2002 to 2006. Mr. Clampin has over 35 years experience in the Power sector with International Power and has worked in Turkey, Malaysia and Poland.

S. Hasnain Haider, Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Haider is CEO of Laraib. He joined Laraib in 2008 and led Laraib’s Team to Financial Close in 2009. Mr. Haider has over 25 years of project finance¸ banking and treasury management experience with domestic and foreign banks as well as Hubco. He joined Hubco in 1993 and was part of the core team responsible for Hubco’s financial close in 1995. Post financial close he became Hubco’s Treasurer and was part of Hubco’s Management Team.

Khalid Faizi

Mr. Khalid Faizi is the CEO and principal sponsor of Coate & Co. (Pvt.) Ltd. and is a UK and Pakistan qualified chartered accountant. He has been active in mining and trading business, supply of Oil Country Tubular Goods (OCTG) and drilling grade barite ore to the oil and gas sector in Pakistan. He partnered with Sumitomo Corporation for telecom projects including satellite earth station and design, construction, financing and execution of 100,000 lines BLT Package “B” valued at US$ 102.3 million. Mr. Faizi headed Laraib Energy Limited as CEO and principal investor from August 2000 to June 2010 and spearheaded the financial closing of the Project. He also sits on the Board of the Bank of Azad Kashmir.

Imtiaz Majeed

Mr. Majeed is a senior Chartered Accountant and Director of Coate & Co (Pvt) Limited. Mr. Majeed is also the founding member of Hameed Majeed Associates (Pvt.) Ltd. (“HMA”), a management consulting firm established in 1989 in association with Hameed Chaudhri & Co., Chartered Accountants; he is also a director and shareholder of Softech, a leading software development house. Mr. Majeed qualified with Price Waterhouse & Co. Australia, and joined A.F. Ferguson & Co. upon his return to Pakistan. Mr. Majeed has rich international and local experience in audit, management consultancy, industry and commerce.

Abdul Nasir

Mr. Abdul Nasir has been working with HUBCO since 1995. He is a senior finance executive with an excellent track record and has been working as CFO of HUBCO for past 4 years. Mr. Nasir is a Certifies Public Accountant (CPA) and has BBA (Accounting) degree from University of Houston. After completing his training in United States, Mr. Nasir joined a major accounting firm in Middle East where he worked in various positions before returning to Pakistan.
